Main takeaway
My biggest takeaway from ZEN57 is how important consistency and balance are. I started doing ZEN once a week in person with Sam last summer, really focusing on yoga, breath work, mobility, and lighter strength training through the 7 Katamudras. Shortly after starting, I loved it so much and felt such a difference that I began doing his online videos almost every day. It taught me that fitness isn’t always about pushing yourself as hard as possible in the gym. It’s also about learning how to move properly, breathe, recover, and build a strong foundation for yourself.
How it changed my life
It completely changed my relationship with working out. Before ZEN57, I had never really worked out consistently besides playing sports growing up. The summer going into my junior year of college was when I really started training with Sam and discovered ZEN57. Even when I went back to school, I tried to keep up with his online videos as much as possible. That was really what created the original foundation for strengthening my body and made fitness something I actually wanted to continue. About a year and a half later, in January of this year, I started training with Sam twice a week, and that’s when I really began to see how much progress can come from simply staying consistent. I originally started with the goal of losing weight and getting stronger, but now my focus has shifted toward building muscle and continuing to improve. More than anything, ZEN57 and Sam have changed my overall mindset. Working out has become part of my routine rather than something I have to force myself to do, and that change has carried over into so many other parts of my life—from the way I eat to how much more I care about taking care of my body. For years, I would always tell myself, “Next month” or “Next year I’ll finally get serious,” and there was always an excuse to put it off. ZEN57 and Sam helped me realize that there’s no reason to wait—the time to start is now. Since changing that mindset, I’ve seen so much growth in myself, both physically and mentally.
To someone thinking about signing up
I would tell anyone thinking about trying ZEN57 to just give it a chance and really commit to the practice. I think what makes ZEN57 so different is that it’s so much more than just a workout. You’re working on your strength, flexibility, mobility and breathing, but at the same time you’re learning how to slow down, focus, and connect your mind and body. It’s something you can incorporate into your everyday life, whether you’re someone who already works out all the time or someone who has never really worked out before. For me, it started with doing ZEN in person with Sam once a week, and I enjoyed how I felt from it so much that I started doing the online videos almost every day on my own. That’s what I love about ZEN57—you don’t need to spend hours in a gym or completely change your life to start. You can make it part of your daily routine and build from there. I genuinely think everyone could get something different out of ZEN57 depending on what they need. For me, it created the foundation that eventually led me to take fitness and taking care of my body much more seriously. Sam has also been a huge part of that journey and has continued to help me as my goals have changed. If you’re thinking about trying ZEN57, I would 100% recommend it. Start with it, stay consistent, and give yourself the chance to see what it can do for you.
